High Performance Skid Steer Tires
When working in extreme conditions it is important to have high-performance skid steer tires that can handle what you throw at them. The EWRS-AT Series solid skid steer tire is designed to perform in muddy conditions. If you need the best traction in the industry this tire is for you. They feature the largest lugs in the industry to provide the best performing high traction all-terrain tire.
The EWRS-HS Series solid skid steer tires are designed to perform on abrasive hard surfaces like asphalt and concrete. These tires have a unique tread design that allows the tire to smoothly skid without bouncing in tight turns. They also last up to 3-5 times longer than a premium pneumatic skid steer tire on hard surfaces.
Specialized Tread Design
The EWRS-HS Series solid skid steer tire is designed specifically for hard surfaces. The tread has an increased ground contact area of 66% with a flat profile. This helps the tire hold up to the abrasiveness of the surfaces it is operating on. The wide void space in the tread is for traction as well as material cleanout. The EWRS-AT Series solid skid steer has the largest lugs in the industry at 2.5" wide and 52/32" deep. Due to the size of the lugs, we were able to limit the number of lugs on the tire which allows for unmatched material cleanout.
Specialized Core Geometry
Both the EWRS-HS Series and the EWRS-AT Series have specially engineered core geometry in the rubber that allows the rubber to compress. Solid skid steer tires have a bad reputation for being too stiff, causing a rough ride for the operator. These tires are different as the core geometry is designed to allow the tire to compress as a pneumatic tire would. Increasing traction and comfortability for the operator.
Longevity
Both the EWRS-AT and EWRS-HS Series are designed for longevity. These tires last 3-5 times longer than a pneumatic skid steer tire. The tires are made with quality ingredients that help the tire last. The high-grade natural rubber, carbon black, and rubber compounds together create a premium material allowing for optimal performance.
Both tires’ tread patterns were designed to be able to get rid of the center wear bar. Tires with a center wear bar will lose traction at 50% worn. The tires' lugs are large enough to not need a center wear bar so they can perform better for longer. The tall 52/32” lugs allow the tires to have a longer wear life as well. All these features together are the reason these skid steer tires last 3-5 times longer than a traditional pneumatic skid steer tire.
Serviceability
In addition to the longevity of the EWRS-AT and EWRS-HS Series, they are serviceable. The tires are composed of rubber segments that bolt onto the high-strength steel rim. The rubber segments are easily removable so if one gets damaged, the operator can switch it out with a new one with only a wrench. The advantages of segmented tires are that they end trips to the tire shop, and minimize downtime and construction delays.
When the rubber on any of Evolution Wheels tires is worn out, a retread kit is available for 70% of the initial price. The operator of the machine can remove the segments and replace them with the new ones. The high-strength steel rim should never need to be replaced.
