Best Tires to Run a Skid Steer Trencher Attachment

When operating a skid steer with a trencher attachment, the right set of tires can make a world of difference for the operator.

The EWRS-AT is specifically designed for longevity and comfortability when operating on off-road and muddy surfaces. Built with the largest lugs in the game and core geometry it compresses like a pneumatic without the bounce and bucking while also increasing traction.

Why Traction Is Important When Running a Skid Steer Trencher Attachment

Traction is the name of the game when operating a skid steer with a trencher attachment. These machines are almost always off-road and need a tire that is puncture-proof and won't get stuck.

Traditional pneumatic tires often don't have the traction needed for these applications. The lugs are small and get gunked up with mud easily. The EWRS-AT is different. It features the largest lugs in the industry 2.5" wide and 52/32" deep. These lugs don't require a center wear bar either and therefore have a much longer wear life, lasting 2-3 times longer than a premium pneumatic skid steer tire.

Benefits of a Larger Lug

The EWRS-AT features unique core geometry that allow the tire to compress like a pneumatic. Compression in a tire increases traction as it allows the rubber to flex around objects instead of just slipping on them.

The large lugs can grab onto the bush and dig into the ground driving the vehicle forward instead of digging itself into a hole like other tires. This is important when operating in muddy areas or on soft ground.

Serviceability

The EWRS-AT is a serviceable tire. We designed all our tires with rubber segments that bolt onto the steel rim. The benefit of a segmented tire is that the operator is able to change out a damaged segment easily without the cost of a new tire.

Even though our tires are serviceable, they are made with a premium rubber compound and UV protection. Our customers can expect 3-5 times the life span of a traditional pneumatic skid steer tire when they switch to a set of EWRS-AT.

Comfortable Ride

Our best skid steer tires for asphalt are designed to ride like a pneumatic skid steer tire but without the bounce. Each tire is designed to compress while still standing up to heavy loads.
